Duane is a solid consistent seller and takes a disciplined approach to Entrepreneurship. His technical background along with a strong math understanding has allowed his business to grow consistently. What I really like about Duane is his restructuring (several times) and his willingness to openly talk about it. I think most people would not want to share what did not work for them, whereas Duane is not afraid to let you know, he tried it and it either did not work or he more importantly he did not like it. Refreshing to hear and we all can benefit from his experiences.
Dan clearly has settled into his successful life in a great way. He manages a large business, his way from his place the way he wants. Sounds like every listeners dream! He credits his consistency in producing a weekly newsletter, a radio show/podcast for 12 years WITHOUT MISSING ONE WEEK. Who can say they have never missed an issue or episode. His lessons in re-purposing content and leveraging across multiple platforms transfer well into the ecommerce world . His continued investment in himself whether it be new books or his attendance at multiple conferences (many unrelated to his businesses where he says he expands the most).
So think of his business : Create tons of content across multiple channels that feeds off each other that leads to sales. I tried to create a formula for his model below:
Dan's simple formula for success
(((Create content x weekly) Multiple Platforms) Time invested in himself²)/audience= sales
sales= books or events or coaching or speaking engagements or affiliate sales or etc.. or (who know what is next (hint... no matter what it will be big!)
Scott is the owner of Feebackrepair.com a consulting company that helps remove neutral and negative feedback, along with suspension restorations, product mix and other Amazon related issues/opportunities. So sad to say I did not know our feedback detailed information. On the surface we had 100% feedback....until Scott helped me drill down and showed me I did have some issues. In this era of account suspensions, I suggest you take a harder look at your account and act now proactively to keep it healthy. Now he sells a service (his time and experience), and you can do this on your own, but if you need help, need not to take on another facet of your business this might be the right service to consider.
Paul is the Technology leader of Scanpower; a Scanning, Listing, Inventory Management company that allows sellers to semi-automate adding their items to the Amazon database for sale. Their system really buys you "Time", the one thing sellers eventually find pressure on from all sides. Every time you can reduce a touch point, or speed up your process, you can gain momentum and Scanpower is one of the companies focused on helping you achieve success. We spend time talking about changes that Amazon makes, with one goal in mind - "Improve their customer's experience, so they are the ONLY choice when you need a place to buy an item you need or want" and the conflict that naturally arises with constant changes for sellers outside of their control, He walks us through how they go about developing changes based on demands. We also talk about they are now focusing on offering more management tools in their "Dashboard" approach to help your business with better inventory management and expense tracking and replenishment reports. Paul lets us know they are close to releasing a purchase order system which should reduce those critical touch points for you.
Brandon has truly created a lifestyle business, after leaving a lifestyle business. He has worked in several industries and in every case, he focuses on creating systems and processes to make it as seamless as possible for him to fit his desired lifestyle. I think there is some great information in the podcast to help you too get focused. He works out of a 340 sf second floor room and has built a multiple six-figure operation, again with tight manageable systems. He is currently building out a Shopify store to supplement his growing Amazon business and talks us through the process and the logic of adding another channel.
