This week, we look at how desperate Venezuelans are searching for ways to cope with the currency crisis. This week, the new 500 bolivar note arrived to replace the 100 bolivar note after the Venezuelan president claimed that mafia groups abroad are hoarding them to suffocate the economy. He also temporarily closed Venezuela's borders but then backpeddled on the decision, effectively allowing thousands of people to cross into Colombia to buy much needed medicine and food. Josh Vardey reports. Also, we take a look at how US president-elect Donald Trump is having journalists tear their hair out by replacing traditional press conferences with tweets. Since his November election, Trump hasn’t held a single press conference, and is instead relying on Twitter as his communication tool of choice. The move means that many journalists’ questions remain unanswered as the media prepare to cover a man wary of their very existence. Julia Sieger reports.
Finally, Hollywood is mourning the death of its’ first-ever IT girl: Hungarian actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor. Gabor died earlier this week at the age of 99, just a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Catherine Clifford takes a look back at Gabor’s life.
