The world is a scary place. God is willing to help us navigate the dangers and pitfalls of life, but we have to be willing to listen to His voice. If it wasn’t for the Lord’s direction, the wise men who brought gifts to baby Jesus would have never escaped Herod’s wrath. If Joseph hadn’t listened and obeyed God’s warning, Jesus wouldn’t have survived. It is God’s guidance that protects us and keeps us on the right path, the good path. But do we know how to hear from God? Are we able to hear, or are we spiritually deaf? In this message we will look at some ways God might be trying to communicate with us and practice hearing His voice.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Stress, worry and anxiety. These three enemies of joy seem to characterize today’s culture. It’s a problem even for believers. But is this how God called us to live? The Christmas story reminds us that God desires for us to have peace, real peace, His peace. In other words, Jesus has made a way for us to find rest for our weary souls in a world full of burden. But how? In this message we will discuss two lies we must overcome in order to discover the counter-cultural secret to peace.
Matthew 11:28-30: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

It is wild to think that God wants to use people for his kingdom work, yet he does. God is calling his people to rise up, to be the body of Christ and to make him known. We are called to be set apart, ready to do the good things that he has called us to. To do this we need to live set apart, to flee from the things that distract us and run towards the things of Jesus. Join us Sunday as we talk through 2nd Timothy 2 and the call to be set apart as a special utensil for God's glory.

While we understand that war on earth is a reality, many of us aren’t aware that there is also a spiritual war taking place. There is much mystery to the spiritual war waging around us, but the Bible seems to teach us that what happens in that realm affects us here on earth. Could much of the hopelessness and anxiety we see today, the fighting that can creep up into a family, the bitterness in our hearts be, at least in part, because of spiritual attack? The Bible suggests that just as God and His angels are moved to encourage and help, Satan and his army seek to destroy. So, do we know how to protect ourselves and our families? As we close out our study of Daniel we will look at this topic of spiritual warfare and how we can prepare for war.

Most of us are somewhat aware that to receive God’s forgiveness, we need to be willing to confess our sins to God. But why do we need that forgiveness? If it’s just for salvation, then why do we still confess our sins as believers? Is there maybe even a deeper reason why confession is so good for the soul? If you are experiencing hurt, nagging guilt and shame, or it seems like your personality has been affected because of something you’ve done or something that’s been done to you, this message is for you!

As Daniel grows older living under the Babylonian rule, he continues to pass challenge after challenge – proving his wisdom, knowledge, and skill. When a new ruler takes the throne, he will be called upon once again to deliver bad news. How does he respond? He chooses to speak the truth courageously and boldly. But courage and boldness don’t just come to him naturally. He has been cultivating this skill for years so that when the opportunity presents itself, he is ready. We can learn from Daniel these tools and skills so when the opportunity arises for us to speak boldly, we are ready.

When the wise men of Babylon couldn’t interpret the king’s dream, they’re life was on the line—including Daniel’s. Fortunately, Daniel knew what to do: he prayed to the God of heaven. We all have moments in life when circumstances are outside of our control. Do we know what to do? Do we know why we should go to the God of heaven? Do we know who He is and what He can do? In this message we will be reminded who the God of heaven is and why He is better than the gods of Babylon.

In Babylon, our convictions are often put to the test. But it is our convictions that define who we are and separate us from the world. Our convictions are integral to our very identity. We cannot compromise biblical convictions lest we forget who we are and who our God really is. Therefore, we must watch out for conviction killers—temptations of Babylon that comprise our faith. In this message, we will look at Daniel’s convictions and three conviction killers that can rob us of our identity in Christ.
