Today I sit down with Jose Ayón, one of my former soccer players shares his experience at UC Berkeley and now in the Army Reserves. Jose grew up in Sacramento, California to Mexican born parents and he details his childhood experiences as the middle child. After high school Jose chose to attend UC Berkeley on scholarship to attain a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. As he learned more and more about policy making he started to question local leaders and their decision making. We talk about his future plans in local government and his decision to join the military as a first born American in his family

In Episode 17 of Season 2, I catch up with Danny Macias of The First Gen Podcast & Liga Mex Podcast . We were able to connect once on his soccer specific podcast and then we had a double date on The First Gen Podcast to share our story behind teaching and education. On this episode we were able to chat about the growth of our podcasts and future plans on the air waves. One thing that Danny mentioned was "I want to highlight people that deserved to be highlighted." Our podcasts are so similiar in that we love to share stories that need to be heard and we want to be that platform for them. It was a refreshing talk to be able to bounce ideas and experiences so far.

In Episode 15 of Season 2, I sit down with an old buddy of mine, Justin Baker. Justin is a 9 year professional basketball veteran. Raised in Sacramento, Ca. we grew up playing different sports including basketball, baseball and soccer. He was able to make basketball his full time job after playing college ball at Santa Rosa Community College and then transferring to Utah Valley University. Through social media he was connected with an agent that gave him a chance overseas and he has not looked back. We talk about what it takes to be a professional athlete, politics in sports and experiencing the world.

In Episode 14 of Season 2, I reconnect with an old classmate of mine, MCB! We share some cool stories from our high school days. Mike now lives in Los Angeles and is the first-ever General Manager of North American office for The Story Mob (@thestorymob). He is now in the gaming world and he schools me on this new world to me. We talk about his passion for writing and how that lead him into the Public Relations world. Mike has experience with the NFL (Chargers) , NBA (Clippers) and other big time brands. He has teaching experience, he loves tacos, trading cards and is a great talker!

In Episode 13 of Season 2, I am joined by DJ Oasis from Sacramento, Ca. A resident DJ at KSFM 102.5 and a premier DJ of the Sacramento area. DJ Oasis is a professional DJ that studies his craft, works at it and continues to deliver music and events to Northern California. We talk about his though process going into becoming a DJ and work events. Oasis was able to share some cool stories and run-ins with big name celebrities and a little bit of the music industry. He was once my baseball teammate and it was great to catch up and talk about our community, culture, music and more.
