Being “polyvagal-informed” is perhaps the newest catch phrase for trauma-informed healing arts practitioners. Polyvagal Theory (PVT), as developed by Stephen Porges, PhD and extensively written about in clinical applications by Deb Dana, LCSW, is described as the science of feeling safe. It’s focus of application is to help us understand our body’s response to the world around us and how our sense of safety or danger or threat impacts our behaviors and our health. The purpose of the podcast is to illuminate the 3 key principles of PVT and explore how an understanding of the Autonomic Ladder/Hierarchy, Neuroception and Co-regulation will help the listener better understand why a safe EFT practitioner is one that intuitively and skillfully builds specific elements and concepts into their practice for more effectively working with clients who have experienced trauma and adversity in their lives.
