It truly is the end of an era in Denver. The Colorado Avalanche and it's current longest tenured player in Erik Johnson are going their separate ways. Johnson does not appear to be retiring and still wants to play. So when the free agency period opens up, Johnson will be free to sign with a team that wants to bring him in.
