  • EP112: Conscious Rant: Mind-Body Mastery - What to Do With All That Time You Spend in Your Head

For almost this whole year, something has been bugging me about the tagline you've probably heard me use many different times, "Get out of your head and into your body."

There are two implications that weren't sitting well with me: 1) That head and body are separate...hello! The head is attached to the body :) 2) That being in your body is "better than" being in your head.

So much of what we do here is about INTEGRATING mind, body, and soul, and FULLY ACCEPTING every single part of yourself.

That said, we'll be changing up our languaging around this and bringing light to how beautiful the mind actually is - especially, when you're putting practices into place to leverage it by connecting with your body and soul, too and that's what today's conscious rant is all about. Enjoy!

  • EP111: Christine Hassler on Expectation Hangovers

This was an electric conversation that I am so so excited to share with you today. Christina Hassler, multiple author whose most recent book is called Expectation Hangover has been coaching and guiding people in deep healing work for years. In this discussion we talk about breaking generational and cultural patterns (which if you listen to this show regularly, you are DEFINITELY here to do!) and all that it entails including healing core wounds, healthy processing of emotions and more. Enjoy!

    About Christine Hassler:

Christine Hassler left her successful job as a Hollywood agent at 25 to pursue a life she could be passionate about . . . but it did not come easily. After being inspired by her own unexpected challenges and experiences, she realized her journey was indeed her destination. In 2005, she wrote the first guidebook written exclusively for young women, entitled 20-Something, 20-Everything. Christine's second book, 20 Something Manifesto, written for men and women stems from her experience coaching twenty-something's. Her newest book Expectation Hangover: Overcoming Disappointment in Work, Love, and Life is the guidebook for how to treat disappointment on the emotional, mental, behavioral and spiritual levels.

Today, she supports individuals in discovering the answers to the questions: "Who Am I, What do I want, and How do I get it?" Christine is a Life Coach with a counseling emphasis known for catalyzing radical self-reflection while offering practical direction. She is passionate about busting the myth that life is about living by a checklist and having it all figured out. Christine believes we all deserve and are capable of discovering our passion, pursuing our dreams, and making an impact on the world.

Christine began her evolution as a Gen Y expert with a discussion group for quarter-lifers in Los Angeles struggling with questions about themselves and their lives. As she continued her investigation of herself and others, she began to craft a roadmap for life for people of all ages which includes discovery, self-acceptance, self-forgiveness and clarity.

As a professional speaker, Christine leads seminars and workshops to audiences around the country. She has spoken to over 100,000 people at colleges, personal growth events, conferences, and corporations. Christine has appeared as an expert on The Today Show, CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, E!, Style and PBS, as well as various local television and radio shows, speaking about life issues and "Expectation Hangovers®" – a phenomenon she identified and trademarked or generational diversity. She is also a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post and Cosmo.

As a Gen Y Expert, Christine is a spokesperson for American Express and the key resource for their women's and millennial advocacy programs. She is also a member of the Millennial Advisory board for Cosmopolitan Magazine. From her passion about education and student development, Christine created a life balance curriculum for the Leadership Institute. She is member of Northwestern University's Council of 100, The Young Entrepreneur Council and is a faculty member at the University of Santa Monica teaching programs in Spiritual Psychology.

Christine grew up in Dallas, graduated cum laude from Northwestern University and received her Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Christine is active in volunteerism and loves living a healthy lifestyle. She currently resides in Los Angeles and loves spending time with her family and friends in Austin, Texas.

  • EP110: Conscious Rant: What "Being In Your Power" Really Means

I get asked a lot about power. In this episode I dive into what being empowered and disempowered look like and how to handle both whether it's happening internally or being caused by an external experience. I address making choices that are in alignment and how that relates to being in your power, and noticing where your validation is sourced from as a great indicator for these things as well. Enjoy!

  • EP108: How To Live With Integrity While Honoring Intuition

I love, love, LOVE this question and it's been an intimate part of my own growth and transformation over the last two years. Helen asked, "How do I live with integrity while still honoring my intuition -- which means I sometimes need to change my mind or go back on agreements I previously made? "

There's a sacred dance between impulse and intuition that is highly influenced by our programming and conditioning. In this short episode I share some of my own experience and how I approach the dance.

  • EP106: Conscious Rant: Treating Emotions With Respect

We're adding a new segment to the show called Conscious Rant. This is for when a specific question hasn't been asked, but I am noticing a consistent theme come up in the community in the Facebook group, or with my clients and program members. This is stuff that feels and is important to address in a helpful and holistic way. Our first topic today is on treating emotions with the respect they deserve. Most people don't have emotional intelligence training, and if anything do have a lifetime of modeling of how to poorly handle emotions. This episode is intended to help out with that. Enjoy!
