With Elias Lindholm off the market, Sean Monahan quickly became the top centre on the trade market, and less than 48 hours later he found himself on the move as well. The Canadiens and Jets quickly came to a deal, sending Monahan across Canada to Winnipeg in exchange for draft picks. Those picks turned out to be a first round pick in this upcoming NHL Draft, and a conditional pick in 2027 that hinges on the Jets winning the Stanley Cup.

What does this mean for the Montreal Canadiens going forward, in particular for Nick Suzuki who already shoulders a massive burden for the Habs.
