The Lees of Stratford and the Cause of Liberty by Dr. Gordon Blaine Steffey

Of Richard Henry Lee, John Adams famously observed that he was "better known than acknowledged," an observation that applies to the entire revolutionary generation of Lees reared at Stratford in the Northern Neck of Virginia. Dr. Steffey joins us to discuss the making of these Northern Neck radicals and the critical role they played in the founding, from the earliest days of dissent to the formation of a new political union of "free and independent" states and beyond.

Join Emerging Revolutionary War as we welcome emerging historian Drew Palmer, a recent America250 intern at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. His research centered on Fort Whetstone and the role that fort, which Fort McHenry would improve upon and replace, played during the American Revolution. Patrick will also share with us details about the upcoming 250th anniversary commemoration being held this July.
