Meg Sippey has over 20 years of experience in the artistic administration world including planning seasons, tours, and multi-faceted community collaborations with major orchestras and opera houses.
In addition, she has extensive experience fundraising, marking and having served in senior level positions. Her love of working with artists stems even further back from her previous career as a professional flutist and true love of music.
Meg holds degrees from Michigan State University and the Eastman School of Music. Often, the most successful arts executives begin as performing artists themselves.
But the path from performer to arts leader is not one that has been carved in stone, and there are few guideposts for those considering a transition from performer to arts manager or executive.
I'm pleased to welcome Washington Concert Opera's Executive Director Meg Sippey to this week's podcast, and eager to learn about her journey from flutist to arts leader.

He also helps musicians who are recovering from injury, returning or beginning instrumental study, or those who are transitioning from performance careers to develop a healthy artist mindset as they manage change.
