Sometimes, when people are viewed as successful or become famous and are in the spotlight, I've heard people say, "They are an overnight success." I don't believe anyone is an overnight success. If we look back on their journey or path, it took possible years to become what's observed as an overnight success.

That's why I chose this quote for today. I believe we always have to show up and do our best because you never know who you are speaking with today, which may be your next big client, promotion, or job offer tomorrow.

Through my 40 years in sales and business, I've learned that putting people first is kind and profitable. It's funny that throughout my sales career in the financial services industry, kindness has never been a word I would use to describe the leaders I have worked for. Sad but true. Recently, I spoke with my brother-in-law, and I shared that as I age, I feel like I know less and less and have more blind spots. I asked him if he thought becoming less intelligent over time was possible. We both laughed and decided that with age comes wisdom, which allows us to see that we have many blind spots, and by being curious, we can uncover and shine a light on those blind spots to continue to learn and grow. My final thought is that I must have a ton of wisdom because I feel like I know less and less daily…lol.
