This has been an incredible season to create with amazing guest teachers on the podcast as well as incredible people just like you that jumped into the coaching space with me for the live coaching episodes. I feel honored & humbled when I look back through the episodes at the many people gracious enough to share in those conversations with me.

I started this podcast in August this past fall releasing episodes each week, but as my kiddos transition out of the school year, I’ve realized that I have to set some parts of my work aside so that I have the space to show up & be present with my kiddos.

So, Enneagram Friends, here is what you can expect from me this summer.

You can expect that I will keep learning & growing this summer. I’m currently half-way through a 100hour Somatic Stress Release training so that I can add somatic stress coaching into my Enneagram coaching. As I work with individuals in the coaching space, so often these moments of overwhelm & chaos surface no matter what the Enneagram Type and so this program is another set of tools & skills to best support my clients.

You can also anticipate that I will have less availability this summer as I spend time with my kiddos. If you’re interested in starting a coaching relationship to meet weekly in the coaching space or even to just schedule an initial session, I want to encourage you to do that sooner than later as my availability will fill up quickly. Don’t wait to get the support you need.

And lastly you can anticipate that I’ll be back on the podcast this coming fall - continuing to provide spaces for you to increase your self-awareness through the lens of the Enneagram & invite you to consider some of the tools & practices you can incorporate to move out of feeling stuck into truly thriving.

Chichi Agorom joins the podcast today to share about her new book The Enneagram for Black Liberation and to offer deeper insights on some of what she shares in her writings. We explore the idea of our Enneagram Types as armor with the awareness that those who hold marginalized identities aren’t always safe to put down the armor of their Type. Chichi contends that the Enneagram is not just a system for individual freedom & wholeness, but rather one that can move us towards collective wholeness & liberation.

In this coaching session with an Enneagram Nine, we explore the deep desire for both peace & autonomy. She shares the experience of digging her heels in when others are pushing or pulling her as well as the internal desire to not have such stubborn boundaries with others. We explore the “too muchness” & overwhelm that’s felt in the Type Nine structure and how we can help support ourselves so that we don’t instantly collapse or hide when we feel swept up in the undertow of others. In our coaching conversation, we give some language to the felt-sense of boundaries and the overwhelm so that we have more awareness of our experience in real-time. In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Eight from the other side of the globe in Cape Town, South Africa. In our conversation, we explore how the protective-nature and energetic intensity of the Type 8 structure often causes us to react in more controlling ways than intended. We sense into the somatic experience of both the charged-up intensity of protecting others as well as the gentle calmness that we settled into as we processed the emotions coming up for her. In this coaching session with an Enneagram Seven, we explore the orientation of positivity and the avoidance of negative emotions as part of her Type-structure. We consider the experience of idealizing a situation and the incredible disappointment that’s experienced when the situation doesn’t meet what we’d hoped for. We talk about how to experience & metabolize emotions so that they don’t keep “hanging out in the passenger seat” unresolved & ignored while we just keep driving on. This Type Seven is a part of a coaching group I facilitate with women that are all in the Assertive Stance, so it was great to have an opportunity to connect with her 1-on-1 in the coaching space.
