In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Type 9 desiring to better navigate her response to stress. We explore the natural stress response of Type 9s getting pushed over into the lower levels of Type 6 behavior, but we also take a look at some healthy practices to better manage stress by integrating to the higher side of Type 6 as a resource. In our conversation, we talk about the natural fight/flight/freeze response that get’s triggered when we experience stress & how we can ground ourselves to reduce our emotional reactivity. This Type 9 was in my previous virtual workshops in the spring, so it was a joy to get to be back in an Enneagram space with her. Listen in with curiosity & compassion to see what resonates in your experience.

In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Eight that desires to communicate well with her spouse who leads with Type Two. We explore how vulnerability comes up for Type Eights in personal conflict, and the common misconception that all confrontation is just easy for Eights because the reality is that it’s not. We also take a look at the movement to Type Five as a stress point and how that can be a way of retreating for the Eight, but how it can also be a tremendous resource for us to step back and recover. Okay friends, let’s listen in with compassion and curiosity to my coaching conversation with our Type Eight.

In this teaching episode, I unpack the idealism of Type Sevens and how it permeates various aspects of how Enneagram Sevens see and respond to the world around them. In the previous coaching conversation with our Enneagram Seven, he shared these challenging moments of feeling completely disenchanted with the education system and other aspects of adulthood that we explored during his coaching conversation.

In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Type 7 about navigating the frustration he experiences when what is hoped for or the “ideal” (so to speak) is not met. 7s often have these moments or seasons where their rosy colored glasses get cracked or they just can’t find the silver lining in an experience & it weighs heavy on them. It’s like all the tender feelings the Type-structure was avoiding come flooding in & it’s exhausting & overwhelming. In our conversation, we talk about the loss that we naturally experience in transitions & how we can honor what was lost and find closure. Okay friends, let’s take on a posture of curiosity as you listen into my coaching conversation.

In this teaching episode, I share with you the process that I guide my coaching clients through when emotions get constricted or feel hard to let ourselves experience. I offer a step-by-step process for experiencing our feelings so that we are not pushing them down into our subconscious and causing a slow build-up of raw emotions that eventually results in some variation of feeling completely overwhelmed. At the end of this teaching episode, I also share with you an eight-minute guided meditation called The Welcoming Prayer. This guided meditation is also accessible here on InsightTimer https://insig.ht/ry4dZHJsmgb and you can connect with Abbi as a teacher on the app here https://insig.ht/SpBtrO1b1hb

In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Six that has a desire to better navigate worry & fears that come up in relationships, but also that come up in life in general. We talk about how Type Sixes are naturally wired with a greater sensitivity towards potential threats and the invitation to view our fear-response to those threats with more self-compassion. In our coaching conversation, we also explore how to manage fear, worry, & anxiety - and that’s truly applicable for everyone, whether you’re an Enneagram Six or not. Okay, Enneagram friends, let’s listen to this conversation with compassion for the Sixes in our lives as well as a curiosity as we are invited into this Sixes’ world for this brief space in time.

Hey Enneagram Friend! I’m Abbi - an IEA Accredited Enneagram Teacher & Narrative Enneagram Practitioner. I teach Enneagram workshops with corporate and non-profit teams, and I also facilitate…
In this season of Enneagram Coaching with Abbi, I share live coaching episodes where we explore the dynamics of our Enneagram Type within the context of our work environment. For those in the workforce, we spend the bulk of our work week interacting with various personalities from our supervisor to co-workers to the clients & customers we serve. Sometimes those interactions with others are incredibly life-giving, but we can also find ourselves discouraged & exhausted by the personality dynamics in our workplace. In a recent article in Psychology Today, it was reported that over 50% of employees quit because of a bad manager, which creates a drain on resources due to employee turnover. A lack of self-awareness and emotional intelligence within the workplace has a direct impact on staff retention and the organizations ability to thrive in their industry.
Not only will you benefit in an increased self-awareness from understanding your own Enneagram Type, but having more in-depth knowledge about all the nine Types fosters emotional intelligence & can dramatically improve your working experience with others. In a recent Forbes article, about 80% of millennial respondents indicated that emotional intelligence is something they actively focus on as they develop their careers. My intention is that this podcast, along with the corporate Enneagram workshops I teach, will be a resource in your personal and professional growth.
The first episode in this fourth season of Enneagram Coaching with Abbi Rodriguez releases on March 13th, so follow along and subscribe for free wherever you listen to podcasts.
