  • S3-E17: Why Risking Being Vulnerable is Key to Finding Love
Mention the word vulnerability and the modern woman looks at you like you have 5 heads! But the truth is you can’t have real love without it. Ask any couple who is happily married and they’ll tell you that key to their longevity is safety in vulnerability. Isn’t that what we’re all looking for? Someone we can feel safe being ourselves with? In this, my last installment in my FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE Series, Business Owner Carleen Lamay brings it home with the message: you can love again…but you’ve got to put it all on the line.

    ABOUT CARLEEN:

Carleen Lamay is the owner of C2 Accounting and Business Support, a management accounting firm, as well as a small business accounting expert, a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and a Xero Certified Advisor. Carleen’s passion for entrepreneurship is what drives her to work with small business owners to help them excel in their businesses. When she is not advising clients, crunching numbers, or running reports, Carleen is usually cooking, decorating her home, or spending time with her family. Inspiring others that love is better the second time around, she and her husband Greg host "Love Take 2" on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

In this conversation with Self Love and Relationship Coach Trena Aloma Bryant, we talk about what folks don’t tell you about FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE: stuff like libido, menopause, adjusting to living with a man after not living with one for a while and that C word. What you can expect from this episode is a whole lot of laughter (and a whole lot of wine…I wish!!) as two post-divorce women who have found love later in life swop aha’s and stories and “Girl, what’s?” with each other. • S3-E15: Why You're Not Getting What You Want In Your Relationships
As we continue my FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE Series, Relationship Coach and Generational Health Advocate Joseph Kemp brings to light the disparities he sees in what is expected of men versus what is expected of women in relationships. All too often, he’s observed men being blamed when things go wrong and, if things go right, it’s because of a man’s subservience to what a woman wants. In this episode, Joseph makes the case that in order for there to be generational health in relationships, men’s needs must be valued with equal importance and women must take responsibility for their actions.

    ABOUT JOSEPH KEMP

Joseph Kemp has always been the voice of reason since about age 17. He was the person that was often sought when folks encountered challenges in life and needed a listening ear. But within the last couple of years, he felt more of a pull towards relationships and family. When he'd hear witty phrases about relationships like "happy wife, happy life" and "behind every great man is a great woman", he found himself challenging the absoluteness of the phrases. Don't both people have to be happy in order for relationship to work, he pondered. And what happens to single men who don't have a wife, can't they be great. The pondering turned into a desire to focus on healthy practices and giving people a different perspective, one where men and women take ownership of their own relationship, not putting that responsibility on the other.

And so as a life and relationship coach and speaker, his goal is to empower singles and couples to build *generational health* through practical wisdom, discipline, and genuine commitment.

  • S3-E14: Do You Want Emotional Healing or Broken to Look Good?
I find it troubling the number of people who’d rather put lip stick on their pain than heal it. Relationship Coach Robert Nolden aka Love Doctor Rob calls it “making broken look good.” The focus of this Father's Day episode and initial installment in my FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE Series is to speak to a population often overlooked by steamy romance novels and relationship discussions. Robert breaks down how his committed relationship is requiring him to deal with emotional baggage in a way that previous relationships never could. Love asked, “Do you want [emotional] healing or do you just want to make broken look good?”

This LOVE LATER IN LIFE SERIES episode is being brought to you by my 3-month coaching program, DOING LOVE DIFFERENTLY. If the way you’re doing relationships isn’t working, it’s time to do love differently: to end the cycle of self-betrayal, mistrust and attracting Mr. Wrongs. Find out more at suzettesolutions.com/ourprograms .

    ABOUT ROBERT NOLDEN

Robert Nolden is quickly becoming one of the nation’s leading Relationship Coaches. After experiencing a difficult divorce, Robert decided to turn his mess into his message. Using his own life experience as a teaching tool, he started N-Vision Life Coaching. Understanding the importance of healing, he is dedicated to helping others become healthier emotionally so they can have healthier relationships.

But Rob’s story doesn’t stop there. He found love later in life and celebrated 5 years of marriage this month with the lovely Nell Carter-Nolden. Not only is it requiring a depth of healing he didn’t know he needed, but it has brought a depth of insight to his coaching that’s more than he could have imagined.

Robert is the author of the book” He Can’t Love You” and hosts a weekly IG LIVE “Man Conversations Monday.”

  • S3-E13: Two Behavioral Shifts Necessary to Find Love Later In Life
If you think it’s too late for you to find love or you fear that love might not be in the cards for you, guess again. It is possible to find love – real deal love – later in life. I did! But I had to do love differently. In today’s episode, I share two behavioral shifts necessary to find love later in life. In fact, this episode kicks off my FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE series. Over the next few weeks, I’ll have conversations with men and women who found love later in life and how they’re making it work and are loving who they're becoming in the process.

    ABOUT ME

Something that a Google search won’t tell you about me is every day I choose to be in this love-later-in-life relationship. Every day, I embrace the unfamiliarity of it because it’s more rewarding than anything familiar ever could be. You see, my relationship is one that my upbringing, my going to Sunday School and church, my education and my first two marriages did not prepare me for. In fact, the misapplication of it all was the source of my greatest suffering.

That’s why as a life coach and relationship solutionist, I endeavor to disrupt the myriad of ways high achievers assign themselves to people and causes that aren’t in alignment with who they are, whose they are and why they are. I help them to redefine what makes them enough on their own terms. And with my solutions, I offer them insights and tools to equip them.

  • S3-E10: Uncomfortable Conversations Aren't Black to White They Are Soul to Soul
The conversations that matter are rarely comfortable. Perhaps that’s why talking honestly about race in America gets hard and rouses fragility, not just in White people, but in Black people too. Hence, the cycle of shame and guilt continues. Deb Besinger and I didn’t want that. While, we knew that a conversation between a Black woman and a White woman would be very uncomfortable, we made a covenant to speak honestly but to uphold one another’s dignity throughout. For, at the end of the day, uncomfortable conversations aren’t Black and White. They are soul to soul.
