💭 What if the Lord really can help you?
What if you’re wrong about how far away He feels?

When David Butler was a young missionary in Seoul, Korea, he felt completely lost and alone — half a world away from home, unsure of himself, and wondering if God even knew where he was.

Then one day, sitting on a random college campus, a song began to play over the loudspeakers — in English, no less — a song he and his mom had heard years earlier at a tiny off-Broadway play no one had ever heard of. It stopped him cold. Out of all the songs in all the world, that one was playing — just for him. In that moment, he knew God had seen him. He wasn’t lost after all.

Years later, that same lesson showed up again in the most unexpected way — in a snow-covered church parking lot.
His young son, Christian, had dropped his tiny Lego sword in the deep snow. Crying, cold, and frustrated, he asked his dad if they could pray to find it. David, half-joking and half-doubtful, told him, “There are some things even God can’t find.”
But after church, as they walked back to the car, Christian spotted his little sword sticking up out of the snow.
With childlike conviction, he said, “Guess you were wrong, Dad. I prayed—and then I found it.”

That moment changed everything.
Now, years later, that same son is serving a mission in Bolivia—and David, in his worries about this son, found this little Lego sword again. Now he keeps it on his desk as a reminder that God really can find what’s lost.
