Ep. 101 — HALLOWEEN H20: 20 YEARS LATER (1998) with Fred Sims

Listen Later

Happy Halloween, everyone! We hope you've had as much fun as us this October as we've worked our way through the entire HALLOWEEN movie franchise.

We started the month celebrating the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's original masterpiece with special guest Jeremy Johnson, who also joined us for HALLOWEEN II. Then we had a ton of fun (some would say too much fun) talking HALLOWEENS 4 & 5 and THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS with John-Paul Newton and Myles Griffin. (We also did a bonus episode, reviewing HALLOWEEN 2018!)

And now, on All Hallows Eve, our series comes to a close with a look at the last film that brought Laurie Strode face-to-face with Michael Myers, and one that celebrated its own 20th anniversary this year, HALLOWEEN H20: 20 YEARS LATER, along with special guest Fred Sims.

Regardless of your thoughts on H20, one thing's for certain: it's very much a product of its time. We'll discuss how it came to be, how it was influenced by a Wes Craven film (and DAWSON'S CREEK!) and where we think it ranks in the Michael Myers saga.

Oh, and we're also asking you this: Is H20 better than its reputation? That's right, this is a Movie Redemption episode! Let us know what you think!

Oh, and if you're asking yourself "Well, what about HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION?" We've thought about that too, and we're releasing a bonus episode where we watch the film along with you! That's right, it's a HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION Commentary Track for your listening pleasure! Check it out wherever you listen to our show!

We'd love to hear your thoughts! Contact us at any of the social media accounts listed below, or be a part of the show by calling us at (864) 371-9931 and leaving us a voicemail of 3 minutes or less and we'll use it on our next episode!
