EP 11: Dr. Cindi Cassady: A therapist's input on attachment styles, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and existing therapy options to explore.

Listen Later

In this episode, I sit with Dr. Cindi Cassady, a clinical psychologist, to discuss childhood trauma, attachment styles, and diverse therapy options that exist for various needs. She has worked for over 35 years as a practitioner and scholar in the field of gender- based violence, child abuse, addiction and trauma.

She holds a Ph.D. and Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. She has been living in Rwanda for almost 10 years and is currently a senior clinical psychologist working with trauma and addiction at Centre Icyizere and Ndera Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Kigali.

She is also a visual artist and the recurring themes of her works focus on women and children, and the important role women play in society and the family.

I enjoyed her input of the ongoing discoveries in the field of psychology and the new developments that exist in treating clinical depression using ketamine and psychedelics.

I hope you enjoy the episode!
