• Understanding the benefits to pausing the process of seeking intimate relationships. It’s critical to take the time to create a relationship with yourself first, before seeking romantic, intimate relationships.
• Listen to your gut and listen to your intuition when you sense something doesn’t feel right! Don’t ignore the red flags you feel, see or hear!
• Once WE have our “Aha!” moment and come out to ourselves, how important it is to use discernment with how quickly we come out to others, with whom and how many people we come out to at first. Allow time for you to process, and your initial loved ones to process.
• It is essential for us to sit in the pain of waiting to ‘act’ on our knowing that we’re gay; to give ourselves and others the proper time to process.
• By seeking external validation, we're still looking for something outside of ourselves to confirm to us what we already know to be true within ourselves.
• Ask yourself, “can I be the source of the love I seek?”
