While the golfing world might still be coming to terms with Rory McIlroy's dramatic, Career Grand Slam-completing victory at the Masters, the first major of the Irish amateur season is upon us as County Sligo Golf Club gets set for the 2025 Connolly Motor Group West of Ireland Championship.

There was more than just a tentative link between Rory's Masters success and the Championship as Rory is a two-time West of Ireland winner (2005 & 2006) while Rory's caddie, Harry Diamond, followed suit with a win in Rosses Point in 2012.
