Glow Up And Speak Out

Ep. 28: Culina Health Co-Founder Tamar Samuels On Food As Medicine + Making Nutrition More Accessible & Inclusive

Listen Later

This week, Alex is sitting down with Tamar Samuels, the co-founder and head of clinical partnerships at Culina Health, a personalized nutrition platform powered by registered dietitians providing affordable, quality nutrition care. Culina Health takes health insurance (which is super rare when looking for a nutritionist!), AND the registered dietitians go far beyond just giving healthy meal ideas; they are actually willing to get into the nitty gritty of YOUR specific schedule to support you in WHEN and HOW you prepare your meals. Tamar details her mission to bridge the nutrition information gap, explains why Culina Health is so unique in breaking down traditional barriers to quality dietetic care, and shares how her own relationship with food has changed since both founding Culina Health and becoming a mother.

Tamar is a registered dietitian with over a decade of experience coordinating care and collaborating with healthcare providers, health systems, and medical organizations and is dedicated to bridging the gap between nutrition care and traditional medicine. Tamar earned her master's in clinical nutrition from New York University and completed her clinical training at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Recognized as one of New York City’s top holistic dietitians by Well+Good, Tamar is a sought-after speaker and thought leader, having recently addressed the Association of Black Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists (ABGH). Her insights have been featured in The Huffington Post, PopSugar, Women's Health, Shape, Insider, and on The Tamron Hall Show!
