- Ep. 51: Surviving To Healing with Breast Implant Illness Advocate Dr. Kayte Susse
This week, Alex sits down with author, Doctor of Chiropractic, and breast implant illness advocate Dr. Kayte Susse. In her book “Beyond Beauty”, Dr. Kayte uses the Adverse Childhood Experiences Index to help trace her journey from a traumatic childhood to chronic illness, then to finally healing. Having survived a very difficult childhood and learning to depend entirely on herself from a young age, she then became completely ill and bedridden in her twenties 9 months after getting breast implants. When not a single doctor could tell her why, she decided to become the medical advocate she herself needed, by going to chiropractic school, diving deep into the research, and uncovering her own breast implant illness. In this interview as well as in her book, she explores the idea that in order to heal as an adult, you must shed the identity and coping mechanisms you once relied on as a child to survive. This episode is for anyone on a healing journey!
