One race they completed recently went for seven and a half days and they had a total of nine hours sleep!
Based on orienteering, these athletes have to choose their own adventure to navigate from one location to another, collecting checkpoints as they go. They travel through remote wilderness in freezing conditions, end up in confined places such as caves, add in sleep deprivation and things can and will go wrong!
