The guy was basically born to fly, he might as well have gone straight from the womb to the cockpit. And once he decided he wanted to see combat, nothing was gonna stop him. Not surprisingly, once he got the opportunity he proved he should have been up in the sky way earlier. But flying in one war wasn't enough for him, oh no.
