New York City-based designer Brent Neale Winston’s love of jewelry began while attending gem
shows with her mother near her native Baltimore. After graduating from Johns Hopkins
University (where she made jewelry by hand as a hobby), and with the encouragement of the
late jewelry historian and InStyle editor, Penny Proddow, Winston received an associates’
degree in jewelry design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. There, she honed her design
and rendering skills under esteemed professors, such as the late Maurice Galli of Harry
Winston.
Brent's formal jewelry career began at Kara Ross, New York, where she worked directly
under the eponymous designer, eventually becoming the jewelry director. After eight years
overseeing design and product development of over 25 collections, including runway
collaborations with Tory Burch, J. Mendel and Naeem Khan, Winston left to concentrate on
her growing family and to make her own mark in the jewelry industry with her namesake
line. Follow Brent on social media @brentnealejewelry and go to Brentneale.com
