Toronto-based AIKO TOMI 富愛子 stands out as an artist with an unexpected sound, presence, and “lyrical deftness” (Exclaim!) that captivates audiences and sparks conversations. Described as “riveting—and fun” (NEXT Magazine), AIKO’s performances are known for their audacious authenticity and bold physicality; an energy that carries through her visually striking artistry that combines stylized portraits, vibrant digital art and self-shot videos. She brings a unique perspective to alt-pop with her “internet-tinged diaspora pop” songs, flavoured with her Japanese-Chinese heritage and Taiwanese roots.

Fresh from performances in Asia and Europe, AIKO TOMI has been spotlighted in The Guardian, Complex Canada, Exclaim!, CBC Radio, NXNE and the Jade Music Festival. She also curates “The Cult of AIKO TOMI,” a self-produced live music series showcasing diverse artists through Asian-inspired themes.
