76 I G. VIDAL - From Zoning on out XBOX, to Becoming a Family Leader
Today I’ve got on Guillermo Vidal from Alpha Dad Consulting; better know as just G.
G grew up as rapper as part of a Christian Hip Hop group named Methodical Elements. Performing all over Southern California for close to a decade. From there he went on to work for Apple as a Trainer where he publicly taught classes on music production and video editing for another 8 years before he decided to jump into entrepreneurship and start his own men’s coaching business.
Currently, G is also a part of Apogee Strong Dads, an organization run by Matt Beaudreau and Tim Kennedy that helps men improve in every area of life through mentorship from some of the best men out there. Some of our mentors include Alex Hormozi, Setema Gali, John Lovell, Stephen Mansfield and many more.
Today, G and I talk about his story; how he went from almost losing his wife, to where he is now, and the lessons learned along the way.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT BELOW:
Guillermo Vidal - Alpha Dad Consulting
Background, what is he doing now
What is going on in society? How are dads impacting it?
What does being a good dad look like?
How did Alpha Dad Consulting come to be?
What is your biggest challenge as a Dad?: Accepting that I don’t have everything figured out as a dad with regards to parenting and coaching my kids. And having patience when it comes to becoming financially free through my business in order to give my family a life of abundance.
Today we’ve got on Larry Hagner.
Larry is the founder of The Dad Edge - an elite brotherhood of fathers dedicated to living legendary, author, and host of the Dad Edge Podcast.
I first met Larry in 2021, at a marketing event in Montana where he was one of the keynote speakers, and since then I have been following Larry’s work and his growth for a couple of years now, and have been blown away with the amount of content, resources, and help for Dads that he provides.
Larry has built an amazing community, centered around the idea that none of us are perfect fathers, we are all still learning, and regardless of our past experiences or traumas, it is our responsibility to become the best fathers we can be.
In this episode Larry and I dive deep into the world of relationships. Life becomes a lot different when kids arrive, and the spark and passion in your marriage often fades. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Today Larry and I talk about some tactical approaches to how you can start leading in your marriage, and re-build that emotional connection that you and your wife had before kids.

Today I have on Reed Moore.
Reed is the lead pastor at Gwinnett Church, where my family attends; Reed’s approach to the pulpit is way different than the way I witnessed growing up, and my family feels like they have found a home for our faith. And a lot of that is because of Reed.
In this episode Reed and I talk about how us Dads need to step up and be the leaders for our family in our faith. Most of the time we delegate this responsibility to Mom, but it is on us to set the example of how a man should live in faith.
We get very tactical and practical on how we can bring the topic of faith up with our children, and what the Bible says about how we should approach fatherhood.

Today I have on Matt Schneider.
Matt is an entrepreneur, husband, father, EVP of a global SaaS organization, co-founder of the Modern Day Knight project with Bedros Keulian, Co-Founder and instructor of the Squire Program, Executive Level business coach, used to be in SWAT and on the US Marshall’s Fugitive Team.
Now he spends most of his time pouring into other men and husbands and wives coaching them on how they can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their business and their relationships.
When I start to dive into his experiences and expertise, I am just learning more and more about the things Matt has accomplished.
What Matt and I get into today is how can Dads really start to take control of their lives, become the husbands, fathers, and men they are called to be, gain increased sovereignty, and create financial freedom for themselves and their family.
Cody is a former preacher, former firefighter, father of 6 and leader of the men’s movement and coaching group the Iron Society.
In this episode Cody and I do a deep dive into the word Identity and why it if so important and foundational. You see - a ton of Dad gurus out there - whether it be in fitness, entrepreneurship, or whatever the case - they harp on discipline.
They say you have to be like Jocko - get up at 3:30 every morning, get a lift, be super strict with your diet, time box your day, and all the other life hacks that help drive success.
And I agree. But what Cody and I talk about today is that you can go down this road and be as disciplined as you want - but if you don’t know WHO you are - you may end up at a destination that is not supporting you or your family.
The first thing we need to do as Dads is define who we are. Cody calls this the identity code - and I am fascinated with it. It’s something that I’ve thought about at surface level, but never understood the importance of it until today’s chat.
Once you know who you are, what your values are at the deepest level - then you can chart a path to your destination and make sure that your actions align with your identity.
Guys - you are going to get so much from this conversation - I know I did.
