David Brooks begins his New York Times editorial on Anthony Kronman by saying, "Not long ago, an astonishing book landed on my desk." Joshua Rothman begins his New Yorker piece this way: "Anthony Kronman, age seventy-one, may be the world’s most fulfilled man." Kronman, former dean of Yale Law School and a longtime Yale teacher of philosophy and law, has taken what might be the first big intellectual swing in decades at what faith can look like in today's Western world.
