On this week's episode of the Project Upland podcast Steve Snell of Gun Dog Supply joins the show to talk about hunting season, the history of Gun Dog Supply and gear, gear and more gear! Steve Snell is President and part-owner of Gun Dog Supply. He's also a passionate upland hunter, bird dog man and lover of gun dog hunting and training gear.
Gun Dog Supply has been family owned and operated in Mississippi since 1972. Their persistant focus on customer service and the end-user along with their ability to adapt with a changing marketplace has solidified their platform in the dog training and hunting supply industry.
Steve is an avid quail hunter and spends a lot of time hunting his string of bird dogs in Texas. Steve gave us a bit of a recap on his hunting season so far as well as a look ahead at the prime of the Texas quail season in December, January and February.
With the holidays right around the corner Steve and I chatted about current gear offerings on the market, as well as the state of the hunting dog gear industry. Furthermore, on the brink of a new year, Steve touched on a few manufacturers plans for the coming year and hinted at some possibilties in the future of hunting dog gear.
Steve also answered some listener questions we took via facebook about specific gear items and/or solutions to problems with current equipment including a burning question of many grouse hunters than involves GPS collars and beepers.
