This is probably one of the longest running train wrecks out there - I'm not sure if I would've put my money on it, but here we are. Cooper has his comedian friend David Roth in the guest seat, again. Things get off the block with the first caller for the evening before we are taken for a little, not-so rehashing walk down the Cooper-Roth friendship lane. Roth then proceeds to shed some light on his comedic apprehensions and challenges, which I thought was quite insightful. And that bit about jew.pizza and the oven - that was some connection to come up with! About half way in, we get someone from the other side of the glass posing The question: what's the premise of the show? For a second, I thought Cooper was going to take the bait but he chose the admirable dodge. And talking about our missing man from across the pond, it's almost eerie to not hear the bloke laugh. Oh well! An Austrian woman then rings in from the street and I thought she suddenly put some life into the episode. Some of the callers who followed her were quite funny too. And that Mariano character, what does he smoke? He's psychotic. Moving on, looks like Roth has some interesting shows coming up. That's me, Sam from the Far East rating this episode with 4 stars - not so rennet-free but still very much edible, I think.
