In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, we hear how Thiessen took the job just a few weeks after announcing his retirement from a 12-season pro career, but the 35-year-old had already been working as a player-coach (think Reg Dunlop with goalie pads) for the Cleveland Monsters, the Blue Jackets' American Hockey League affiliate, for a couple of seasons. It's a unique route to coaching, one that started with numerous great examples from big-name goalie coaches that guided his own path through pro hockey, and Thiessen shares several stories and lessons from all sides of that journey.
