It's no coincidence that we had five Spooky Linings episodes this season, and the titular character of our final outing this month loves the number 5. That's right: we're discussing the fantastic 2021 Candyman requel from Nia DaCosta. Is Candyman a malicious boogeyman or a ghostly Black Batman? This movie aims to get to the bottom of it - sort of. Fantastic performances, amazing visuals, and incredibly music mostly make up for a (at times) muddled script. So bandage up your hand and chain yourself to our belts as we slice open this film to talk about the legacy of Candyman, the horror of needing to use a public restroom, the secret Chicago catacombs, getting annoyed by the first song in your phone's library, and much, much more.
