John Birse is one of the pioneers and legends of Bookkeeping in modern times here in Australia and it is Johns journey that we examine in Episode 18 of Heart of the Bookkeeper, a journey that is very much like a history lesson in how the Bookkeeping profession has grown here in Australia. In this episode, we hear Johns passion for education in Bookkeeping and why he believes it is so critical to the its existence, survival and growth, moving forward. Johns other passions, including family, volunteering, community, animals, tractors and especially caring for the Land, are strong themes throughout this exceptional episode. Most of all though, Johns vision for a strong and robust Bookkeeping profession into the future, based on what his eyes have witnessed across a long period of time and the challenges he has been through along the way, are inspiring and essential listening.
