Makela also joins the show for the first time to talk about a fascinating -- and at times frustrating -- career that includes being a NCAA standout at Mercyhurst, the battle of playing far too few games the past couple of seasons, and why it led to a stint in Sweden. As a goalie and goaltending coach who works with Jon Elkin of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as running Mak Goaltending, Makela has lots of great advice, including how to manage your games in those periods when all you seem to get is practice time.
