In today's episode of Psych Talk I chat with Rachel Havekost, M.Sc, writer, speaker, mental health advocate, and author of Where the River Flows. Rachel starts the conversation by sharing what inspired her to write her memoir and the experience of being so open and vulnerable with the world. We then dive into a variety of topics related to the human experience, namely challenges that many individuals face throughout their lives. Rachel shares her personal journey with mental health, suicide, and therapy, and how she has worked through various experiences throughout her life. We also discuss divorce, the pandemic, and dating in your thirties, including the unique challenges each of those brings. Further, Rachel shares how can we face challenges in our lives and use them as tools for self-discovery and vulnerability, rather than roadblocks or pitfalls in our way.
