By way of background, COVID has changed the landscape with respect to tax issues, and State & Local taxes are no exception. This is particularly true for folks who work remotely for their employer. The question is if the employee has tax nexus in a particular state. Nexus is the requisite contact between a taxpayer and a state before the state has jurisdiction to tax the taxpayer.
