Describing the limitations of the Equality Act (2010) then Attorney General Suella Braverman described schools as risking 'indoctrination' of children to a particular model of gender. We consider this for the question it represents and wonder about the scientific origins of the idea that we can teach children gender 'wrong' and whether the trans community indeed represents evidence of the same. If not, then maybe teaching children about gender might give gender diverse folks a language to describe their experience, recognise it as one shared by others, and lay the foundations for us all to find a place to belong.
