Before the Insidious and Conjuring Universes, all the way back in 2004, James Wan and partner Leigh Whannel made a small, simple movie that would shake up horror in film forever. Saw is a testament that with an iconic character, a catchy premise, and word of mouth, even a movie on a modest $1.2 million budget can go a long, long way. 15 years later, does the original in this long standing series deserve its place on the Mount Rushmore of horror franchises? We’ll find out.
