Part of the reason I love dividend investing is the constant returns despite different market conditions. We can have serious events happen in foreign lands and even if the stock market falls due to hesitant investors companies continue to pay their dividends.

Dividends are not decided by investor sentiment. They're not decided by foreign police. Dividends are decided by the CEO and board of each company, the accountants working at the company. A company will continue continue to pay it's dividend if it has the revenue and growth to continue paying it, simple as that. I don't have to worry about the fears of other investors and factor that into my investments.

My goals for 2020 are to deposit two thousand dollars a month into my portfolio and build a passive stream of income that consistently averages four hundred dollars a month in income. Throughout 2020 I will be broadcasting my portfolio and it's performance in pursuit of this goal. My hope is that despite any market conditions, whether the market goes up 20% or we enter a recession and it drops 40% I will be able to accomplish both of these goals, two thousand a month deposited, four hundred a month in passive income. Do you think i'll be able to do it? I guess we'll find out.
