After a disappointing week in the results column for the Montreal Canadiens managed to go toe to toe with the Colorado Avalanche and came out on top with a 4-3 win, more importantly it was a regulation win. Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield each had a power play while Joel Armia scored a late game-winner all backstopped by a great showing from Jake Allen between the pipes. So Scott takes a moment to break down the win, and why the Montreal Canadiens are one of the most baffling teams in the league this year.

Kent Hughes had his mid-season press conference as well on Monday, and there wasn't a ton of explosive news, but plenty worth digging in to. Hughes talked about possibly extending Sean Monahan, Cole Caufield's season and the development happening in the AHL this year. Scott sifts through the quotes to try and get a read on what the Canadiens GM is possibly thinking as the NHL Trade Deadline slowly draws closer.

Finally, some good injury news! Tanner Pearson was spotted skating with the development staff before the Habs optional skate this morning. The timeline for his return appears to be on track for the initial six week prognosis, and now creates some potential roster havoc in the coming days. Besides Joshua Roy returning to the AHL, what can the Habs do next with Josh Anderson also lingering on the injured list temporarily?
