Even though the world has slowed down, I still find myself in perpetual motion. Today, I'm chasing joy by claiming my soul pace - a sustainable rhythm that gives me the freedom, grace, and power to be the woman I was sent here to be. And today, that looks like staying in the bed. What does YOUR soul pace look like? Have you ever taken a moment to really connect with how your soul wants to move, rather than operating at the speed of the world around you?
I learned to listed to my soul pace by working with an incredible coach - Cherie Healey. You can learn more at cheriehealey.com.
Your mental health is the foundation of everything that you do. Speaking to a licensed therapist or counselor should be a basic human right. If you don't have the resources to see a therapist in person, consider apps like TalkSpace or Better Help.
Today, I'm chasing joy by using my phone the old fashioned way....to make an actual phone call.
Today, I'm chasing joy by surrendering to the unknown -- rather than overwhelming my nervous system with an endless stream of news update. In the latest episode of her podcast, Unlocking Us, Brene Brown talks about some of the ways that we react to crisis (overfunctioning and underfunctioning). I found it super helpful.
I'm also coping with the Covid-crazies by chasing joy through music. DNice and his daily Club Quarantine live mixes on Instagram are giving me life. You can support Covid research and look fly at the same time by buying a Bel Air Athletics Club Quarantine t-shirt or hoodie here. I'm also loving the daily episodes of Hunker Down with Harry from my original crush, Harry Connick Jr on YouTube and Facebook Live.
Things are getting real on the shelter-in-place front. So, in addition to lowering the bar I've resorted to celebrating the small wins. How are you celebrating small wins in these unsettling times? Drop us a line at [email protected].
Entering day eleventyseven of the shelter-in-place order, I'm lowering my expectations. Basically to zero.
Today was all about getting back to basics - cleaning the house, baking cookies, and FINALLY doing something about my hair.
I love Bask & Bloom Essentials - particularly their Gentle Cleanser and Brahmi Root Deep Conditioner. You can check them out here, or purchase them on Amazon.com.
How are you looking for bright spots in what seems like an endless stream of dark days? Drop us a line at [email protected]. I found a bright spot today in Brene Brown's new podcast Unlocking Us.
Many local yoga studios are offering virtual classes as we all shelter-in-place. Search for virtual yoga on YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram. And support your local yoga studios during this time of shelter-in-place. Most yoga instructors are independent contractors, and find themselves without a source of income in the times of shelter-in-place. Consider supporting local studios and yoga teachers by donating whatever you can spare in exchange for their online (and mostly free) offering. You can also support independent health & wellness businesses by signing this petition on Change.org
