Episode Twenty-nine of Strong Enough Podcast brings Eric Herrera, a Veteran who was stationed in Germany and completed two tours in Iraq as a bomb hunter. Eric was responsible for helping to protect his fellow soldiers by locating and identifying improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

During this episode, Eric talks about returning from a combat zone to a world with social media and smart phones and the challenges he experienced with reintegration. As Eric struggled to move forward, he decided to put it all on paper and write a book to share the truth of his experiences overseas. He believed this would bring him closure, as well as provide insight to the families of soldiers who were lost during Eric’s deployments. Eric shares what changes he’d like to see for veterans who are struggling and how we can be supportive to our veterans.
