It's another Kahala Friday, but the guys are talking...phones? It's Apple vs. Android on this edition because Billy got a new phone - so which side of the coin is he on? But then to actual sports, University of Hawaii football is back at home in front of a sold-out crowd, what do they need to do to take down the top team in the conference? Plus, men's volleyball had an exhibition game and is looking forward to their schedule release party, so head coach Charlie Wade talks about it and how you can get in on the action. And Scott Robbs from Spectrum Sports talks about the food drive with the University of Hawaii athletics department over this coming weekend and how you can help.
On this Kahala Friday, Gary comes on talking about last night's TNF game...or at least whatever that game was supposed to be. Plus, a big game coming up for the University of Hawaii football team tomorrow, so there's two people on to talk about it. Mark Veneri joins the show as he does every Friday of the season to talk about the team heading into the weekend and how they can take on the top team in the MWC. And Eric Matthews from UH talks about what's coming up for the fans this weekend, including the football game and the food drive happening over the weekend.
Billy and Tanner talk Hawaii high school playoffs after Gary Dickman gave his opinion on what he thinks the Division 1 Open playoffs should play like, Lori Santi joins the show to talk about the Wahine basketball team, and Christian Shimabuku from Aloha State Daily talks Hawaii football and fills in for Kanoa for this week's Six Pack of Picks!
Gary talks about Rainbow Warrior football after last night's first Timmy Chang Show in a couple of weeks, as well as some Rainbow Wahine Volleyball talk with Tiff Wells.
John Veneri and Mark Veneri are joined by Hawaii football Head Coach Timmy Chang, as well as special guests running back Landon Sims and defensive lineman De'Jon Benton
Gary and Tanner fill in for Kanoa and Billy today as the pair breakdown their thoughts on Hawaii basketball, from the men's close loss to the Oregon Ducks with the Star Advertiser's Stephen Tsai joining in on the analysis and discussion (with a little Jets and Hawaii football talk fit in too), as well as the Rainbow Wahine's season opener against Portland State with head coach Laura Beeman joining the guys to talk about the win over Portland State.
Gary talks about Hawaii men's and women's basketball as the two teams open their seasons, the first being a loss to Oregon in a nailbiter and the Wahine's win over Portland State with radio color voice Kallin Spiller.
Kanoa and Billy talk about a packed sports day, from reacting to the NFL trade deadline, talking Maui sports and Hawaii football with Jordan Helle, the surprising upset from HPU over Boise State last night with head coach Jesse Nakanishi, as well as a fun talk with Shane Victorino after the World Series to talk story.
Gary talks Hawaii basketball, from the season opener for both the men's and Wahine teams later today, to the stunner in Boise where the Hawaii Pacific Sharks took down Boise State. Gary also talks the NFL Trade Deadline with CBS' Jamey Eisenburg to give us all insights on trades that went down, as well as trades he's expecting later today.
