ETERNAL WORD OF LIFE MINISTRY (EWLM)

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.

My faith is my identity. The genuine practice of the Christian faith distinguishes Christians from other members of the society. In fact, the name Christian was used to identify the followers of Jesus Christ in Antioch because their lifestyle was modelled after that of Jesus Christ, something that merited them being described as Christ-like. If you're a true Christian, it will be seen in your way of life and not just in your words, name and uniform.

For our NINE-DAY-BEGINNING OF THE MONTH INTENSIVE PRAYERS AND NOVENA kindly pray your daily Rosary with Psalms 20, 77, 123 and 1 Samuel 16:1-13 from 1st to 9th May, 2023.

Kindly listen to today's episode of my podcast for details of today's homily.

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.

There is a common saying; "injustice to one is injustice to all". It's even more true to say that injustice to one is injustice to God, for we're the bearers of God's presence. The treatment we give to others is an expression of our believe in God and the manifestation of our love/hate for God. Our friendship with God comes to light in the way we treat others and our enmity with God shows forth in our inhuman treatment to others. Why are you persecuting God? You can still show by your lifestyle how much a friend or persecutor of God you're. It's never too late.

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Jesus Christ, knowing we all need a guide, promises to ask God the Father send us the Counselor (cf. John 14:16). As God's children, the need for a godly and God-given guide is inevitable. We need both the Divine Guide; the Holy Spirit, and a human guide; who is a veritable tool in the hand of the Holy Spirit. Who is your guide as you journey through life? Your guide, to a large extent, determines how much you're able to know in truth your destination and how much you're able to get to your destination. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The great tribulation of the early Christians was turned into a weapon of blessings as the tribulation became a catalyst for the spreading of the Gospel like wild fire. The more the tribulation then, the faster and wider the spreading of the Gospel message and the more new coverts were made and more new churches were founded. What are you making out of your trying and challenging experiences and situations? Your tribulations can be turned into your weapons of blessings. What weapon are you producing today? TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Like St. Mark, we've been charged to go into the world and preach the Gospel. By this mandate we're called to go forth working for the salvation of souls, the transformation of the society, and the conversion of all people. This mandate, when faithfully followed, bring about the manifestation of great and mighty miracles accompanying our faithful discharge of the Divine mandate. This is made possible only through the life of humility, faith and unreserved self-surrender to God. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. St. Paul warns us in his Letter to the Philippians (3:18-19); "for, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as the enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things". Today's message warns us to take this Pauline admonition seriously if we must live and enjoy eternal life. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Haven experienced the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, we're charged with the mandate of being His witnesses in our world of today. Our way of life must, of necessity, bear witness to the fact of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Through baptism, we've died with Christ to sin and risen with Him in righteousness. We must, therefore, endeavour always to live our life aiming solely at righteousness; a christ-like life. As stewards and in imitation of Jesus Christ we're called to the service to God and humanity to minister at the table of the sacraments and of the Word as well as serving the needs of God's people. As stewards, we shall give an account of our stewardship at the end of time. This call to service therefore requires of us high level integrity and the pursuit of holiness in the course of discharging our responsibilities in our call.
