TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Any project initiated by God or in which God is involved must turn out successful. Though there may be oppositions, challenges and barriers, every Divine project would always succeed. Every child of God and every project started in God, in line with God's will and guided by God must succeed. As God's children we are Divine projects. We're called to trust and obey God unreservedly and He will lead us through all the troubles, trials and challenges of life to a successful end. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Just as in the case of the early Christian community, true Christian living will always come with different forms of oppositions, persecutions and trials. Nevertheless, in the midst of all these, we must remain resolute and resilient in obeying God rather than succumb to the pressures due to oppositions, persecutions and trials. God will always come through for us, for He's too faithful to fail. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. We're made members of the kingdom of God in order to advance the course of the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ came not to condenm the world but to give up his life as a ransom in order to save humanity. Once saved by Him, we're given the mandate to live as His witnesses in saving others. Christ Jesus as our Saviour is our model and as the first born son of God He's our guide since through Him we've been made God's own children. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The early Christian community was described in these terms: "the whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed for his own use anything that he had, as everything they owned was held in common" cf. Acts 4:32). Can today Christian community be described in similar terms? Are we not seeing high-level division and hatred? Are we bearing witness to this Christian unity built in the Holy Spirit at the family level and at the level of small Christian community/small Christian units? Are we not deeply divided by canal and mundane things as transient as they may be rather than being truly united in the Holy Spirit? The unity of the early Christian community gave rise to the mighty works and great miracles that characterised their Christian living and witnessing. Instead of chasing after miracles, canal and mundane things, let's build ourselves up in true love and the unity of the Holy Spirit and much more than what we desire will come chasing after us. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The call to discipleship of Christ Jesus demands that one be born again; such a one must be circumcised at heart and not just going through a particular ritual just for the sake of the ceremony. This requires us to become christ-like in our way of life since being born again configures us to the person of Christ, the first born son of God. Consequently, we're henceforth to live as God's children in the imitation of Christ since we're made the children of God by adoption through Jesus Christ. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. It's better to obey God than obey men; this was the response of the apostles to the Jewish elders and leaders after being flogged and warned never to preach in the name of Jesus Christ. Beloved child of God, persecutions, afflictions, threats, trials and challenges are opportuned moments to assert and affirm our belief and faith in God. We must, if we truly are the children of God, stand our ground to practise and defend our faith and belief both in good and bad times. Our life of virtue must be in season and out of season. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Jesus Christ is indeed alive and because He lives we can face tomorrow. He is the reason we're alive and in Him we live and move and have our being. If the humiliation, crucifixion and grave did not end the existence of Jesus Christ, whatever you're going through today, no matter how depressing, despairing or humiliating it may be, will not see your end. You'll live to see the end of them all. For God Himself who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will raise up in the glory of the resurrection. Hold unto God in virtue, in faith and in prayers. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The early Christians encountered personally and realistically Jesus Christ as the risen Lord. This avail them the privilege of experiencing the power of the resurrected Lord. This in turn led to their manifestation of the resurrection power characterised by the Apostolic courage with which they bore witness to Jesus Christ despite being persecuted, the great signs that accompanied their witnessing, the innumerable souls converted to the way of God and their perseverance to the end. We, too, are called to experience and manifest this resurrection power of our Divine Master in our daily life. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The realistic realisation of not being on the right path of life usually leads a sober, remorseful and repentant sinner who has resolved not to continue in sin to ask the question: What must I do? The same question generally rises in the heart of the upright who has continually suffered experiences that make him/her feel his/her hope dashed. Whatever the case may be, God always has a guide and counsel for us as regards what we must do to be saved, transformed and enjoy the fullness of the glory of the resurrection. Whatever your story may be, keep your eyes on God, seek to sincerely know what you must do, conscientiously do it and you'll enjoy divine intervention that will change your life narrative for good.
