ETERNAL WORD OF LIFE MINISTRY (EWLM)

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY IS A DIVINE MANDATE AND A DIVINE PROJECT. TO THIS EFFECT, WE NEED TO BE GUIDED BY GOD IN THE DISCHARGE OF OUR PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES. BEYOND THE QUEST TO RAISE "GREAT" CHILDREN, WE MUST MAKE A CONSCIENTIOUS EFFORT TO RAISE CHILDREN WHO WILL BE "SAVIOURS" TO THEIR GENERATION AS ORDAINED BY GOD FOR THEM. DO YOU PRIORTISE THE WILL OF GOD IN THE DISCHARGE OF YOUR PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND THE UPBRINGING OF YOUR CHILDREN?

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. After wondering away from God in sin and resisting God in our despair and afflictions for His seemingly not coming through for us, today, the readings invite us to come returning to the Lord our God. Experiences, in addition to the scriptures, must have shown us beyond all reasonable doubt that life outside of God or away from God is emptiness, pain, and shame. Let's us return to the Lord our God therefore that He may forgive, heal, and restore us. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Often, the challenges of life lead us into despair, and at such moments, we tend to lose hope and give up on God. If God is really able and willing to help us, why would He allow us through circumstances, experiences, and treatments that leave us feeling so defeated and helpless to the point of despairing? Why hasn't God come through for us? Beloved child of God, God is always on time even when He appears to delay. Do not give up. Hold unto God and stand your ground firmly in faith. There is still hope. God's help is already close at hand for you. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Beloved child of God, today you hear the voice of God, harden not your heart. This is the path that leads to peace, holistic wellness, lasting justice, and sustainable development. Unfortunately, most often, we would rather resist the instructive voice of God and make unto ourselves gods from the things of this world. This has brought upon the world the evils and afflictions that are bedevilling us today. Therefore, let us harden not our hearts but submit wholeheartedly to living according to the will and teachings of God even as we listen to His voice. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Essentially speaking, what distinguishes us as Christians and as God's children is not the fact that we take Christian names nor the practice of wearing religious regalia. We're distinguished as God's children from other people by the fact that our life is centred on doing the will of God, keeping His Words and status, and serving Him in our fellow human beings just like Jesus Christ did while on earth as a human being. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. In John's Gospel (6:37) Jesus Christ says that "...whoever comes to me I'll never drive away". God will indeed not spurn a humble contrite heart. He's rather in constant search for us. This, on our part, calls for true remorse for our sins, genuine conversion of heart, humility to give God His rightful place in our life and our world and readily forgiving those who sin against us in imitation of God's unconditional and never-ending love. God, and not man, remains the measure of all things and the supreme authority over the universe. Recognising this fact will help us live in total submission to the authority and will of God and become better in our relationship with others. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Every realistic personal encounter with God draws us closer to God and makes us better children of God. Unfortunately, when our relationship with God is benefit-based and benefit-oriented, we're left torn away from God and attached only to His blessings/benefits. God is not just our benefactor and we, His beneficiaries. On the contrary, God is fundamentally our Lover and our Father and we, His Beloved and Children. Seeking God in the sincerity of heart will bond us truly to/with Him. At this point, we're able to worship Him in spirit and truth thereby gaining constant access to His Divine presence and His blessings. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The love of God is unconditional, and His mercy is inexhaustible and eternal. We might have gone astray. We might have revolted against God in sin. We might have committed despicable atrocities. We might have gone deep and far in sin. But, if we sincerely repent, God will again have compassion on us and show us mercy. He manifests His all-powerfulness by showing mercy rather than condemn. He is constantly in search of us His straying children. Will you accept His unconditional love, His inexhaustible and eternal mercy, and His ever-available compassion today? TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The will of God will always prevail in the affairs of the world especially when the upright remain firm in virtue and the will of God. God raises men in mysterious ways. He raises the poor from the dirt and takes the helpless from the ashes (cf. 2 Sam. 2:8; Psalms. 113:7). Today, God is inviting us to help build up one another rather than destroy one another as He will always turn the rejected stone into the cornerstone. No matter how tough and rough life has been for you, keep firm in serving God in Spirit and truth, He'll show up for you in the neak of time and your story will change for good.
