TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." (John 15:1-2). The beauty of a flower comes out the most when properly trimmed and pruned, though it's never a pleasant experience the flower undergoing trimming and pruning. Like the flower, we must subject ourselves to the pruning and trimming activities of God (discipline) to come out with the best form of beauty, glory and excellence. God disciplines us because He loves us and wants the best for us. For our NINE-DAY-BEGINNING OF THE MONTH INTENSIVE PRAYERS AND NOVENA kindly pray your daily Rosary with Psalms 31, 54, 94, 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10 and Isaiah 60:1-22 from 1st to 9th February, 2023.

TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. As God's beloved children, the best place to meet Jesus Christ is to seek Him in where He is usually found most of the time in His life. Jesus Christ will always identify with and be with those who are at the margin of the society. In fact, if you seek to find Jesus Christ, seek Him in the poorest of the poor. We're called to extend a helping hand to those in need out of our love for God. You're lifted to lift others. You've been raised to raise others. As you enjoy the helping hand of God, become a helping hand of God unto others. You only need to have faith in Him for He is able and willing to help you. We cannot truly claim to have faith in God without a genuine act of repentance. This is because a sincere faith in God gives birth to a new way of life lived in the quest to stay in full communion with God. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. It is impossible to please God without faith. With faith nothing is impossible for God. God is ever with us on our journey through life. We must always recognise and acknowledge this fact and act always on it. The name of the Lord is a strong tower where the righteous run into and they are saved. They apostles did and Abraham did and they were not only saved but brought to their destined/desired destination in life. Do not allow your faith in God to waver, He will never fail. We may be unfaithful, God is ever faithful. May the stormy situations in and around your life receive the same other from Chris today: peace, be still! TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Nothing good comes easy. In life great things take a lot of sacrifices, efforts and time to come about. Be weary of the mantra of working smart rather than working hard. As true as this may sound, it can be misleading if you are not able to see in that mantra that working smart necessarily entails hardworking. Indeed, by your patient endurance you will win your life. Wait upon God in faith and virtue no matter what comes your way. God will certainly come through for you even when He appears to delay. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Beyond the twelve apostles Jesus appointed to work very closely with Him, in today's Gospel passage He appointed yet seventy others to go ahead of Him to preach the Gospel message of God's kingdom. Similarly, Saint Paul, just like the apostles, raised people like Timothy and Titus (among others) to work as his collaborators in spreading the Good News and blessings of the Kingdom of God. This brings to the fore the import of healthy collaboration in the mission of Jesus Christ and His church. A healthy collaboration is the greatest weapon against the ills of our generation, a prerequisite for genuine Christian growth and the route to success in the spreading of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. The greatest saint today can still turn out to be the worst sinner tomorrow. Just as the worst sinner today can become the grew saint tomorrow. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Whatever we do that is not prompted by, motivated by and targeted at doing the will of God, no matter how religious or lawful or laudable, is but folly and often evil. The law in itself and by itself alone has no power to save, only the will of God does. The law devoid of the will of God destroys what it promises to save. It is only in the doing of the will of God that the law finds meaning. In all things and at all times seek to do the will of God above anything else. We must learn to make sacrifices for the future generations and for one another rather than sacrificing the future generations and one another if we must create a better world for ourselves and for all. Nothing is worth sacrificing others and/or the future generations for. In fact, it's an obligation upon us to leave a better society than we inherited for the next generation. This can only happen if we, like Jesus Christ, adopt the life of "sacrifice" for the holistic good and "salvation" of all. TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Through Jesus Christ we've been given the access to the Holy of Holies of God. Jesus Christ, unlike the priests if old, is without sin and, unlike the priests of old who offered the blood of animals, He offers Himself and pours out His own blood for the remission of our sins. He offers Himself once for all. He spares nothing but pours out Himself as a libation for the forgiveness of our sins, for our redemption, sanctification and reconciliation with God. In Him the wall that separates man from God has been brought down and man is admitted into the heart of God; the place of the unconditional love of God, His unmerited favour and His inexhaustible blessings. In Jesus Christ you've been made a child of God and are at peace with God the Father.
