In today's episode I speak with Marcel Wallace – physiotherapist and Olympic Weightlifting Coach, currently based in Vancouver Canada. Marcel and I met a couple of years ago whilst training at a London CrossFit box, where I was introduced to the world of Olympic Lifting and immediately fell in love with it. In our conversation we introduce the discipline of Olympic Lifting and talk about the many diverse benefits of the sport, as well as general approach to training and recovery for sustained long-term performance.
ABOUT MARCEL
Marcel is a physiotherapist and strength coach based in Vancouver, Canada.
His love for training started over a decade ago and led him to discover the sport of Olympic Weightlifting, which opened his eyes to the benefits of the sport as both an athlete and subsequently a coach/physio. He still lifts frequently, and has competed at a regional level in the UK and Canada, but is now more interested in applying the sport and it's principles to helping his clients.

Subscribe to my Sunday morning newsletter: https://www.everwellcoach.com/newsletter.In today's episode I explore the concept of creating space as a key strategy to enabling success. One of the key challenges we face in reaching our goals is failing to create space for our desired outcome to come in. We all operate under capacity constraints of time and energy – the two universal resources we are always spending, consciously or otherwise – and the success of the change you are looking to create will rely on your ability to effectively re-allocate those resources form your current settings. It's like the closet that's bursting with clothes – every now and again you have to clear it out to fit new stuff in.

This time of the year carries a seasonal temptation to wait until January before embarking on the process of change, because January is when our lives and the world magically transform. But January is nothing but the perfect procrastination mechanism, designed by your mind (aka the sneak) to stop you from taking action. If you keep waiting for the right time to start, you will never find one, because the only right time is right NOW. So don't wait for January. Don't wait for next week. Don't wait for tomorrow. Whatever you do, whatever your goals are, train yourself to take the smallest actionable step towards that goal now. Right here, right where you are.
