*** TRIGGER WARNING- This episode discusses details of domestic physical abuse
This episode is very different from the rest. We love to be silly and have fun but we promised ourselves we would be authentic and real on this podcast. Although we are goofy and don’t take life too seriously, we have our struggles just like everyone else. Julia opens up about her abusive relationship for the first time and goes into detail of her experience in hopes that anyone out there going through something similar will feel less alone, and to get help and get out. Please be kind when listening, this wasn’t easy for us to record.
If you or someone you know is or may be experiencing abuse, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline, available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233 or text “START” to 88788. Live chat is also available on the National Domestic Violence Hotline website.
Teen survivors of domestic abuse can call Love Is Respect, a dedicated hotline for young people, at 1-866-331-9474. Love Is Respect also offers a text line and online chat features.
