As they do every year, jurors from five countries gathered at the National Library in Leipzig early February to select the ‘Most Beautiful Books from around the World’. Nearly 600 Books from 33 countries, all of them winners of national competitions, were laid and ready for the jury’s scrutiny. This year’s Golden Letter, the highest award, goes to “Ouroboros Wings” from the Netherlands, the graduation project by designer Benaiah French at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. It was also a big challenge for the current jury –Sunandini Banerjee (India), Isabel Seiffert (Swizzerland/Germany), Fraser Muggeridge (UK), Raül Vicent (Spain) and Artur Frankowski (Poland).
The award-winning books 2026 can be viewed for the first time at the Leipzig Book Fair (March 19th – March 22nd) at the Stiftung Buchkunst stand (Hall 5, A 300).
