Chicago Cyclists Are Buying Out Tamale Carts To Keep Vendors Home And Safe From ICE: Cycling x Solidarity’s latest mutual aid effort takes cyclists on group rides through Pilsen and other neighborhoods to buy out tamale vendors so they can stay home as ICE agents swarm the city. They pass out the food to people in need.

Broadway Rezoning In Edgewater, Uptown Gets City Council OK After Months Of Neighbor Debate: Thursday’s vote comes nearly a year after the plans were first brought to Far North Side neighbors. The city hopes the zoning changes will spur development and housing in the area.

Drivers Parked In Bus And Bike Lanes Will Soon Face Fines If Caught On Bus Cameras: The cameras are installed on six CTA buses as part of the city’s Smart Street pilot. A 30-day warning period ends Nov. 13, after which fines will be issued.

You Can Now Drop Off Your Food Scraps At 13 Chicago Public Library Locations: This brings to 33 the number of sites in the city’s Food Scrap Drop-off program, which helps turn food waste into compost. The program is free for Chicago residents.
